T. Quaintance Johnson
Red Rocks Art Studio | Morrison, Colorado
T. Quaintance Johnson is a Colorado-based artist whose work bridges sculpture, natural history, and fine craft. Working professionally since 1982, Tim brings over four decades of creative exploration to his Red Rocks Art Studio, nestled in the foothills of Morrison.
A graduate of the University of Colorado at Denver, Tim received his BFA in Sculpture with distinction, followed by a first-class apprenticeship in Modeling and Enlarging at the Johnson Atelier Technical Institute of Sculpture in 1984.
In 1986, he founded Pioneer Arts Studio and Gallery in Morrison and has continued to develop a diverse and evolving studio practice ever since.
Mediums & Methods
It takes all of these mediums in Sculpture, Pottery, Photography, Digital Art, Blacksmithing and Jewelry to make him who he is as an Artist and Craftsman that prizes Craftsmanship above of all.
Tim’s work is deeply informed by the geology, ecology, and cultural heritage of the Red Rocks region, blending art, science, and storytelling into one visual language.
“Art is not a Mold of Society…but rather a Hammer to Break It.”
“Art rooted in place becomes a kind of time capsule—one that lives and changes with the land.”
