About the Artist

T. Quaintance Johnson
Red Rocks Art Studio | Morrison, Colorado

T. Quaintance Johnson is a Colorado-based artist whose work bridges sculpture, natural history, and fine craft. Working professionally since 1982, Tim brings over four decades of creative exploration to his Red Rocks Art Studio, nestled in the foothills of Morrison, Colorado.

A graduate of the University of Colorado Denver, he earned a BFA in Sculpture with distinction. He continued his training in 1984 at the Johnson Atelier Technical Institute of Sculpture, completing a rigorous apprenticeship in modeling and enlarging.

In 1986, he founded Pioneer Arts Studio and Gallery in Morrison, establishing a lifelong commitment to both artistic practice and community engagement.


Mediums & Methods

Johnson works across a wide range of disciplines, including sculpture, pottery, photography, digital art, blacksmithing, and jewelry. This multidisciplinary approach reflects a deep commitment to craftsmanship—where material, process, and technique are held to the highest standard.

His work is shaped by the geology, ecology, and cultural heritage of the Red Rocks region, blending art, science, and storytelling into a unified visual language.
