Moonscapes: Night as Day

Digital photography becomes something more when it captures what the eye alone cannot see.

Much of this work focuses on Moonscapes—long-exposure photographs taken under a full moon. Through timed exposure, the landscape is illuminated so completely that night transforms into something resembling daylight, while still revealing the presence of stars.

The result is a world suspended between realities:
night that appears as day—yet still remembers the stars.

Spirit Mountain & Grape Vine Petroglyphs
Photographed in the region of Grapevine Canyon near Spirit Mountain, these Moonscapes capture ancient petroglyphs under lunar light—where human history meets deep time.
The full moon reveals texture in the stone, bringing forward markings that have endured for centuries, while the night sky holds its quiet witness above.

I chose to shoot the sunset and full moon at the Valley of Fire in Nevada on my way in to shoot the Spirit Mountain Moonscape.

Moon Rise in Fire

Valley of Fire

On the journey to Spirit Mountain, I chose to document the transition—capturing both sunset and the rising full moon at the Valley of Fire in Nevada.

Here, the landscape burns with color at dusk before surrendering to the cooler, luminous tones of night. Together, these images form a passage—from fire to silver, from day into Moon Rise.

Digital Fine Art & Photography

The studio also produces staged digital fine art photography, working with models in constructed environments.

Costumes, jewelry, and visual elements are created in-house—extending the studio’s practice beyond documentation into fully realized visual narratives.

Photography, like all the work here, is about revealing what is already present—
waiting for the right light, the right moment, and the willingness to see it.
